Muir Beach & Fence

On a cold windy day, my daughter and I climbed a rather steep hill to get this perspective of Muir Beach. It was the beginning of a long wet Winter in California with flooding and landslides in the following months. The clouds, however, provided a wonderful filter for these photographs.

The air from the Pacific Ocean provides a freshness to the vegetation not found in the Northeast. The rain being more alkaline, provides a wonderful freshness in the woods. The Sequoias also provide a roomy canopy providing a soft filtered light. The height of this canopy is also one of the reasons all the photographs are shot in a vertical format.

My daughter, who was hiking along with me, took a wonderful picture of a Banana Slug in the woods.
